Ireland vs. Algeria: World Cup warm-up match tonight

The ‘Desert Foxes‘ (Les Fennecs) arrived yesterday morning in Dublin where they will play their second World Cup warm-up match against the ‘Fur Foxes‘. The first one was against the Serbian ‘White Eagles’ and took place in the 5th of July stadium in Algiers on the 3rd March 2010. The match will take place in the RDS stadium in Dublin this evening. 1. The team doesn’t seem to be ready. Today’s game proved that we cannot do anything without the usual players (we have less than 11 players of real international class), and Bougherra, Yebda, Matmour, Yahia and Meghni’s absences make a difference.
Halliche played well, and Ziani made a lot of efforts as usual. But the others were disappointing, especially Guedioura and Belhadj.

I won’t attach any favourite song today. I hope we will win against the UAE, and the injured players will recover quickly…

    • Yes, very disappointing performance. Nobody has a clue what Saadane wants to do or if there’s any coherent strategy behind his choices on the pitch. It’s not really that we expect them to win every match, it’s just that we would like to see a professional team playing professionally and taking all its matches seriously. I mean, the World Cup is two weeks away for God’s sake!
